Wellness Without Shame: Indigenous Frameworks of Care
– April 30, 2026
The California Rural Indian Health Board would like to invite you to join an upcoming webinar series titled Wellness Without Shame: Indigenous Frameworks of Care on Thursday, April 30th, 2026, from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM. The presentation offers a space to reflect on how shame has been shaped through systems, history, and lived experiences. We will explore ways to provide culturally rooted care through relational support.
Please feel free to share this invitation with the appropriate staff who may benefit from participating. We welcome you to join us on Zoom and be part of this meaningful conversation.
Please be mindful that this gathering is being held alongside a Tribal housing area, natural habitat, and restricted areas. Reminder: drive slowly, be respectful of the private housing area, and don’t block driveways.
PARKING:
Parking is available along the side of the grassy area. If you’re more mobile, we kindly ask that up-close parking be reserved for Elders and individuals requiring closer access.
TIH GATHERING PROTOCAL:
Come to the gathering with an attitude of respect and reverence. Please, no dogs, radios, cursing, weapons, alcohol, or drugs will be permitted at the gathering. In keeping with tradition, women and girls should wear long skirts for all ceremonies. Keep movement and talking to a minimum during the presentations. Before each meal, a prayer is offered; please be respectful. All youth must always be accompanied by an adult or chaperone (5 youth per 1 adult) during the gathering, including evening activities. Respect others who register after you, and take only one conference bag per adult. Be mindful of where you place garbage.
Note: The TIH Gathering and its sponsors are not responsible for personal property loss, theft, or damage.
If you have any questions about the registration process, please do not hesitate to contact Luana Hill directly at (916) 929-9761, ext. 1502, or lhill@crihb.org.
