"The California Food Guide” (CFG)

Fulfilling the Dietary Guidelines for Americans" provides new information for health professionals on nutrition and physical activity. CFG now includes an expanded chapter addressing American Indian Foods. CFG is primarily designed as a nutrition or training manual.  It can be used by health professionals such as public health nutritionists, registered dietitians, physicians, nursing staff, health educators, and other community based health professionals.  Since CFG is available on the web it can also be accessed by the general public.  Food industry may also use CFG for new product development, promotional efforts, and consumer services.

Network for a Healthy California


CRIHB receives funding from The Network, which represents a statewide movement of local, state and national partners collectively working toward improving the health status of low-income Californians through increased fruit and vegetable consumption and daily physical activity.  Multiple venues are used to facilitate behavior change in the homes, schools, worksites, and communities of low-income Californians to create environments that support fruit and vegetable consumption and physical activity.  For more information, resources and to find out about funding visit

    America Reaffirms Health Care for Indian Country
    National Indian Health Board

    Washington, DC – The United States’ 564 federally‐recognized tribes claim victory with today’s
    historic passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The House passed the Senate’s
    health care reform bill by a vote of 219 to 212 which includes the reauthorization of the Indian Health
    Care Improvement Act (IHCIA), placing in effect health care legislation that American Indians and
    Alaska Natives have been requesting from Congress for the past ten years.
