AAIR is a statewide substance abuse treatment and recovery support program administered by the California Rural Indian Health Board, Inc. (CRIHB).  We work to empower American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) people in California to break the cycle of drug and alcohol addiction and achieve long-term recovery. Learn More


The goal of the NAWPAC contract is to increase the capacity of Native American women in California to address alcohol and other drug (AOD) problems and to improve family communication skills. This important contract is issued through the California State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs. 
The project includes publication of Red Voices magazine, a survey of Native American women in California, and a Native American women’s conference. The project will also include development of culturally competent educational materials on topics such as Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and methamphetamine prevention and treatment.  ADP Treatment/Recovery Technical Assistance & Training for the Native American Population in California- (NATA)
It is our goal to provide technical assistance (TA) and training focusing on reducing barriers to and assuring the quality of alcohol and other drugs, as well as related issues for prevention, treatment, and recovery program services for
California’s Native American population. We offer technical assistance and training to organizations in California to support staff, board, tribal and community members, countyAOD programs, Indian Health Services programs, etc. for the health and wellness of Native people in California.  Learn More

    US settles royalty dispute with Indian tribes

    The Obama administration says it will spend more than $3 billion to settle a long-running and contentious lawsuit over royalties owed to American Indians.  President Barack Obama hailed the settlement of the case, known as Cobell v.
